| Operation | Settings | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Cut bottlenecks | Bottleneck -max length (px) (default -1); Bulge -min area (px) (default -1) | Separates distinct structures detected as one event and joined by a thin area, like a bottleneck. The settings bound the length of the cut and the minimum area of each resulting event. It doesn't work for events spread across several fields of view. |
| Fill labels | Fill labels on border | Fills holes inside labeled objects. The setting turns filling on or off for holes that touch the image border. |
| Graph from labels | Line - max length (px) (default 0); Distance mode (centroids or contours); Line - thickness (px) (default 1) | Draws a line between each two events closer than the maximum length. Distance mode sets whether distance is measured between centroids or between contours. The result is a mask image (8-bit, 1-channel). |
| Grow labels | Mask; Grow distance (px) (default 0); Seeds ignore mask (default Yes) | Each label takes over nearby unlabeled pixels, and each pixel goes to the closest label, up to the grow distance. Growth happens only in the white part of the mask. |
| Label | Connectivity (default 4-conn) | Turns a black-and-white mask into a coded image: each connected set of non-zero pixels gets its own label. |
| Re-Label (missing) | none | Re-labels an already labeled image so the labels are consecutive values. |
| Re-Label (missing, duplicates) | none | Corrects missing labels and duplicate labels, meaning separate objects that share one ID. |
| Shrink labels | Mask; Shrink distance (px) (default 0); Seeds ignore mask (default Yes) | The inverse of Grow labels: event bodies get smaller by the shrink distance, only in the white part of the mask. |
Every operation here except Label and Graph from labels takes a coded image and returns one; Graph from labels returns a mask. Seeds ignore mask matters when an event already reaches outside the mask. In the reference's Grow labels example, with it set to No everything outside the allowed area is deleted, and with Yes the full seed bodies are kept.
