HAWK Biosystems

Violet 3.0 and QF-Pro®

Bringing Interactomics to Life Science

HAWK Biosystems is redefining how we see biology by capturing proteins in action. Every cellular decision depends on how proteins interact and signal together. This functional layer, known as interactomics, reveals biology’s true behavior.

QF-Pro® technology makes that layer visible. It quantifies real protein interactions and activation states directly in FFPE tissues and cells and translates static expression data into dynamic maps of molecular function.

In oncology, this perspective changes what’s possible. By measuring PD-1/PD-L1 engagement, QF-Pro® has predicted immunotherapy response more accurately than conventional PD-L1 IHC, identifying patients with higher efficacy and longer survival.

Violet® 3.0 brings QF-Pro® into reach. This all-in-one FLIM-FRET microscopy platform integrates high-performance imaging, intuitive software, and compatibility with slides or multi-well plates. Following the assay, the QF-Pro® software suite guides users from sample setup through analysis, generating clear, quantitative data that link molecular activity to therapeutic outcomes.

Together, Violet® 3.0 and QF-Pro® make functional spatial biology accessible and help researchers and clinicians see how proteins truly behave and how that behavior drives disease.

Impact

Most assays stop at expression, overlooking whether proteins are functionally engaged. This gap limits the predictive power of biomarkers, especially in immuno-oncology, where only a fraction of patients respond to checkpoint inhibitor therapies.  The Violet 3.0 + QF-Pro® close that gap by mapping true molecular engagement at the nanometer scale, providing data that link directly to therapeutic response.

In a clinical study of non-small cell lung cancer (n = 188), QF-Pro® quantified PD-1/PD-L1 interactions and predicted response to immunotherapy more accurately than PD-L1 TPS by IHC. Patients identified as interaction-positive had three times higher therapy efficacy and double the survival rate.
