| Cutoffs | Threshold lines on a diagram that divide events into populations on any measurement, not only intensity. | |
| Gates | A region drawn on a diagram that selects a population of events for further analysis. | |
| Histogram The frequency distribution of pixel intensity values across an image | How many pixels take each intensity value: it shows range, saturation, and how well populations separate. | |
